I don't have any pictures of Terpsichore to post yet, but other people do! Here's [livejournal.com profile] magda_vogelsang's post about her incredible cakes for the dessert revel, including links to pictures (check out her other cakes on her website, too!). And here is [livejournal.com profile] desfontaines's post including pictures of the cakes and her incredibly spiffy new garb (which I helped her hem).

[livejournal.com profile] flinx took some great pictures of the event, but they're not ready for posting yet!

Just wanted to share!

I survived!

Well, Terpsichore has come and gone, and I survived unscathed! No cuts, no burns, no sprained ankles or pulled muscles. A little soreness from so much time on my feet, but that's not unusual. Many, many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] grimfaire, [livejournal.com profile] sapphireone, and [livejournal.com profile] takumitakahashi for all the good vibes and fairy dust! The event itself was lots of fun. The entire ball was played by live musicians, who totally kicked butt! My class went well, I learned some neat new dances, saw some good old friends I haven't seen in ages, and [livejournal.com profile] flinx and I looked fabulous! Had a tiny little post-revel with [livejournal.com profile] saltatoria, one of the friends I haven't seen in ages. Much Izzard was quoted (like you do). All in all, an excellent weekend.

Now I'm going back to bed.

This weekend I'm headed off to Terpsichore, one of the best SCA events of the year. I love this event, I really do, but I have developed a disturbing habit of hurting myself before or at the event. Two years ago, the day before Terp, I seriously burned my forearm with my iron set on the linen setting. I still have a scar from where some of my skin stuck to the iron. Last year I fell off a platform and sprained my ankle (again!) right before the evening ball. While this enabled me to see true Chivalry in action, and showed me the kindness and sympathy of many of my friends, I was terribly embarrassed and rather ticked with myself, not to mention disappointed.

I am asking you to send me good wishes, mojo, vibes, luck, anything that will help boost my chances of being accident-less. I will sprain no ankles, suffer no knee pain, no burns will occur, and I will not screw up teaching dances I've never taught before. I will endeavor to maintain a positive attitude, as I know a negative one will be more conducive to accidents, but I wouldn't mind a little extra help.

Thank you all very much!
