A little slice of perfection
On Saturday
flinx and I went to the Arb to see the peonies in bloom. His camera took some incredible pictures.
A whole big field of peonies!

I like the composition on this one.

There were so many beautiful varieties. The colors were just fabulous.

His camera can capture remarkable details.

This is one of my favorites.

Pay no attention to that weirdo behind the flowers!

The
flinx in his natural habitat.

Such a lovely day! Someday I'll have my own garden full of lots and lots of flowers...

I guess you can play in your parents' garden... but if you ever want some dirt to play in, we've plenty of room in our garden!

I have two very pale pink peonies in back of my townhouse that I inherited from the previous owner. Actually, someone dug them up when she moved out, but they didn't get all the roots, so they came up in the spring, and have been larger every year.
The first year one plant only had a single whirl of leaves while the other had one flower. Last year the first had more leaves and the second had 3 flowers. This year the first one flowered for the first time with 3 flowers, and the other had many flowers (I didn't count, but significanly more than 3). At this rate, they should be gorgeous next year.
Sadly, this year they came out at the beginning of Memorial day weekend, when it was blazing hot, so the flowers only lasted a short time (less than a week).
